Our goal is to make your visit here as pleasant as possible. For our patient’s comfort, we ask that you follow these guidelines:
Latex (balloons) prohibited
Refrain from bringing latex balloons into the Surgery Center, to minimize latex exposure for patients and staff who may be at risk for latex allergies.
Confidentiality
To protect private medical information, visitors will be given information about a patient’s medical condition only if we have the patient’s permission to do so.
Pediatric patients
A parent or legal guardian must remain at the Surgery Center at all times when children under the age of 18 are having a procedure. You may be with the child before and after the procedure. Two adults should accompany the child home, one to drive and one to take care of the child.
If you plan to leave the Surgery Center
Please leave your cell phone number with the front desk staff and remember to leave your cell phone on, in case we need to call you.
Miscellaneous
- Restrooms and a pay phone are available in the front lobby entrance.
- DVD players and movies are available in our lobby.
- Wireless Internet is available for your convenience in our lobby.
- The YMCA across the street charges a $15.00 per day drop-in fee to use their facilities.
- A Wells Fargo full-service ATM is located in the alcove on the ground floor of the new main El Camino Hospital, below the lobby concourse staircase. An ATM is also available at the Nob Hill store on Grant Road.
- The Health Library & Resource Center is located on the first floor of El Camino Hospital. Visitors are welcome to access the Internet, browse an extensive consumer health library and get information on community resources. As a free service, the center can help you complete an Advance Health Care Directive or learn about health insurance options.
- Vending machines, the El Camino Cafe, and The Bistro serving esspresso drinks is located inside the new El Camino Hospital on the ground floor
- Myra's Cafe is located at El Camino Hospital Cancer Center
