Lobby/Waiting
Room
Our spacious and comfortable lobby/waiting area will accommodate
your family and friends while you are being cared for in our modern
surgical areas. This is also the same area you will check in to
prior to your procedure. When you arrive at the Willow Pavilion,
proceed through the two sets of automatic doors - this will bring
your into our Lobby area. The receptionists will assist you through
the admitting process.
Coffee, tea and restrooms are available in the waiting area for
family and friends. If family members of adult patients care to
have a bite to eat while waiting, the Hospital snack bar and cafeteria
are close by.
Preoperative
Unit
A member or our clinical staff will take you to the Preoperative
Unit in preparation for your procedure. We will check your medical
history and care plan. We will also check your vital signs and start
an IV. Our nursing staff will instruct you about your care and answer
any questions you may have. If you are to have an anesthesiologist
for your care, they will meet with you and your family in the Pre-operative
Unit to answer any questions you have about your anesthesia.
ECSC's
Pediatric Waiting Room is decorated with our younger patients in
mind. Toys, a wagon, and rocking chair may make our pediatric patients'
and their parents' waits a little easier.
Our Procedure Room is located off the Pre-operative Unit. Minor
local anesthesia cases are performed in this room.
Operating
Room
All six of our operating rooms are brightly lit and maintained to
exacting standards for surgery.
After being prepped, you will be brought by gurney to one of our
Operating Rooms. Your privacy will be maintained during your surgery.
Recovery Room
This is where you will recover after your surgery. You will be attended
to by one of our Registered Nurses (RNs). Beverages will be offered
to you. When your recovery allows, we will have your family or friend
present with you in the Recovery Room.
ECSC also has a lovely Transition Room off our Recovery Room. Depending
on your recovery and length of stay, you may wait comfortably in
this room that has a view of our garden area.
After meeting all medical criteria, you will be discharged by your
anesthesiologist or physician and escorted to your car by one of
our clinical staff. If you are able, you can walk out escorted or
wheelchairs are available.
